Why is the LANPWR LiFePO4 battery perfect for off-grid setups?

With its rating of 12.8V/100Ah, the LANPWR LiFePO4 battery can output 1.28kWh of usable capacity per pack (on an 80% depth of discharge) to provide power for the base load of off-grid systems. Following the example of a typical off-grid scenario, and assuming a 300W fridge (daily power consumption of 2.4kWh), a 200W light fixture (daily power consumption of 1.6kWh), and a 50W communications device (daily power consumption of 1.2kWh), an overall daily power consumption of 5.2kWh requires four sets of parallel batteries. Comparative comparison experiments show that, when ambient temperatures are as high as 50℃, the capacity fading rate of it is only 0.5%/month, and ternary lithium batteries will have a value of up to 2.1%/month. During the 2022 Texas heatwave, the off-grid clinic system with this battery provided a stable power supply of 15 consecutive days at 45℃, reducing the downtime of the medical equipment by 97%. Its patented thermal management system is able to stabilize the internal temperature difference of the battery pack to ±1.5℃, which is much higher than the industry standard of ±5℃. The cycle life is boosted to 6,000 times (DOD 90%), 50% higher than that of standard LiFePO4 batteries.

The cost-benefit analysis indicates that the total life cycle cost per kilowatt-hour of the LANPWR plan is as low as 0.08/kWh. Let’s use the 10kW off-grid system as an example. Compared to lead-acid battery (with unit cost 400), its 100Ah battery pack (with unit cost 1200) has a higher initial investment cost of 200,18600 (including maintenance and replacement). In 2024, SolarEdge collaborated with LANPWR to launch an intelligent energy storage solution. With a load balancing algorithm that is dynamic, it reduced the energy waste rate from 12% to 3.8% and the payback period of the user to 4.2 years (industry average: 6.8 years).

Environmental data monitoring shows that under a tropical rainforest environment with humidity of 95%, LANPWR battery annual capacity degradation is only 1.8% (15% for lead-acid batteries). Ever since the Amazon Rainforest Research Station employed its 200Ah battery pack in 2023, its use of diesel generators dropped to 1.5 hours daily from 8 hours, while carbon emissions went down by 81%. It can support 0.5C fast charging (50A current). Used with the MPPT controller, it can be charged to 100% in 4.2 hours, 2.3 times that of the traditional solution, and charging and discharging efficiency is as high as 98% (85% for lead-acid battery). Modular design allows users to expand capacity in modules of 1kWh, and one pack only weighs 11.5kg (29kg for the same capacity lead-acid battery), saving 61% installation space. It is particularly suited for off-grid RVS and small mobile workstations with space constraints.
